The Apothecary - 2010 Pinot Noir
Sourced entirely from one vineyard 3 miles from the ocean in the far north-west of the Sonoma Coast AVA, this charming and delicious Pinot Noir is far more complex than one would expect – the result of a great climate, native yeast fermentation, and bottling unfiltered. Aromas of sassafras, vanilla, black cherry, violets and forest floor rise from the glass. The palate is juicy and fresh, but also very full and lush and flavorful, with an easy-going finish chock full of spice, flowers, and red fruits. 95 cases produced.

The Apothecary - 2010 Old Vines
These venerable old vines bring the spice to the Relic Ritual cuvee, but this time we thought we just had to bottle it up on its own! It smells as if there was a massive tectonic shift and Provence and Calistoga were suddenly neighbors. Aromas of full-blown black pepper, rosemary, blackberry pie, raspberry and prairie flowers fill the room. On the palate however, the wine shows its Napa Valley heritage with deep, lush richness and mid-palate texture. These vines are 110 years old and 70+ years old respectively, and planted in some of the finest soils in Napa Valley. 66% Carignane and 34% Petite Sirah. 72 cases produced.

The Apothecary - 2008 Cabernet
What happens when a 22-year old hillside vineyard consisting of rocky volcanic soil produces a black wine that needs 30 months of 100% new French Oak barrel ageing to resolve? Pure magic. This unctuous and full wine seemed like it would never open up in barrel, until BAM! There it was in all its splendor, with black cherry, sage, chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon and clove flavors fanning out on the palate like a wave of sweetness. Absolutely a delicious and open wine right now, but with enough structure to age, this is a no-brainer for the Napa Cab fan. 52 cases produced.
