This Syrah hails from the prestigious Pritchard Hill area of Napa Valley, known for its famous Cabernet vineyards, but a rare site for Syrah. The 2009 Scarpa signals this locale with its rich, fat mid-palate and sweet, ripe aromatics of cinnamon, clove, black olive and blackberry.

This year the inclusion of Old Vine Petite Sirah and Carignane from Al Frediani’s fantastic vineyard just south of Calistoga has taken Ritual to another level. The floral and spicy aromatics are intense, lively, yet deep. The palate is hugely ripe and sweet with fruit, and our minimal use of new oak allows the floral, spicy, layered flavors and texture to shine. We dare say this is the best vintage of Ritual by a long shot!
From 70+ year-old vines at Frediani Vineyard, our first Petite Sirah is inky black-purple in color, rich and intense, but also shows a rare grace and creaminess, due to the deep, rocky soils in this famous Calistoga neighborhood.
The dense, sappy 2009 Avion is a complex, modern Pinot Noir from a .9 acre vineyard at 1200 feet elevation in the Sonoma Coast AVA. Cool breezes keep the flavors fresh and vibrant, but abundant sunshine gives the wine great density and color.
2008 in Napa Valley yielded Cabernet Sauvignon with stunning upfront fruit and unctuous textures, IF the vineyard was managed with extreme attention to detail. We were careful and lucky enough to have done the work needed and now find ourselves with a gorgeous wine to present to you. The aromatics are ripe and fruity, with sweet spice and chocolate notes not far behind. The palate has great fruit and extract without being heavy and is framed by full, ripe tannins that coat the mouth, allowing the finish to blossom.
